Our store

Hello, ya’ll! I am so excited: Ziggy and I have added a store to our little blog where you can shop for all sorts of goodies. I hope my mistress spends a lot of time in the “Treats” section. Ziggy wants a new fly mask and fly sheet, another set of sports medicine boots, a big pink ball (like the two she already has aren’t enough), a new saddle blanket (what’s wrong with the one she got last year?), a new cinch (she claims the one she has is uncomfortable and itches), and several jars of Applezz N Oats treats. Me? Well, I’d be satisfied with a big bag of those apple and carrot treats and a couple of those Licky Thing horse treats. Yummm!

Pretty Hooves

The farrier was here last Saturday and now Ziggy and I have pretty hooves again. The supplements my mistress is giving me are finally paying off: the big crack down my front right hoof is growing out and healthy hoof is growing in its place. It’s so nice to have pretty hooves again. The only drawback is getting dewormed everytime we get our hooves trimmed. Ziggy says I’m a big sissy, but I can’t help it if I don’t like the feel of all that paste in my mouth. It makes me gag. Yuck! I try to spit it out, but it sticks to my tongue so I just wash it down with big gulps of water. Now if they would make a paste that tasted like carrots I just might go for that. Big Smile

Year End… already?

How quickly the year goes by! I can hardly believe that today is the last day of 2012. Soon people will be setting off their fireworks celebrating the end of the year. Thank the Great Skyhorse that my pasture buddy Ziggy and I live in a quiet neighborhood. Before I came to live with my mistress, I was stabled in a barn that was very close to town and New Year’s eve was a terrible night for most of us. I say most of us because there was one old horse Gus, short for Peppy’s August Moon, who was hard of hearing. He would just stand in his stall, munching on hay, while the rest of us would pace around, whinnying to one another for comfort. One year a mare named Lacey tried to kick down her stall door. All the good that did her: she was laid up for several weeks with two swollen rear pasterns. Anyway, I’ll be glad when tonight is over. Humans can keep their fireworks, I prefer to listen to Nature’s night sounds.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
